Les Gets Ski Area Opens on Saturday 10th Dec.
Friday Dec 9th 2011

Our recent snowfall has opened the Les Gets Ski Area. Saturday 10th December the lifts open for the first time to start this ski season. It'll just be one or two lifts, for the locals to find their ski legs before the main season starts on 17th December, but it's always a good sign when they get the season going early. Below is some photographs of the Chavannes Ski Area being prepared, it looks idyllic. Skiing Les Gets on the first day of the season is always a pleasure, not a mark in the snow anywhere, ahhh.....

Winter coming : Update on all the project on the Les Gets and Morzine ski area
19th October 2010

Hello!

We had our first snow of the season this week-end. Not a lot but just enough to make white all the slopes and start to get this winter feeling. Temperature dropped and we are getting our first minus numbers of the autumn. Winter is coming along!

Here are some news about all the ski area.

The work of the new red bubble is still on going. This will help a lot beginners and children to get up to Chavannes without having to climb all the steps up at the start of the bubble. If you want to follow the work, please check our webcam.Les Gets Morzine Ski

And here is the surprise of the winter. For the slope that most of you consider to be the best slope of the Les Gets and Morzine skiing area, Chamossiere will have this winter a brand new 6 seater chair lift linking the bottom to the top of the montain in one go. Hard drag lift at the bottom followed by the very slow 3 seater chair lift is finished - you will have this winter a brand new chair lift to get on the top in around 4 minutes. It will be much easier to enjoy this fabulous slope and the amazing views of Mont-Blanc and Geneva Lake from the top. On the right is the picture of the staring station of the chair lift.

We will give you same more update soon about all the news of the resort.

Speak to all of you soon!

Getting ready for the winter: Brand new red bubble new bubble
21st August 2010

Hello!

They were part of the legend of Les Gets, they will be replaced for the winter coming. The red eggs which are the main lift to bring beginners to the Chavannes area are going to be brand new this winter. No more 4-seater not cosy cabs, new 6-seater eggs, no more stairs to go up at the start of the lift, new platform on the slope level to make easy the access to the lift, especially for young children. Don't worry for the lovers of this lift, it's just an upgrade, they will be still at the same place, they will be still red but cosier and faster to go up!

Will bring you some pictures of the new lift when he will be on...

Speak to you soon...

Our First Ski Blog
29th June 2010

Hello and welcome to our first blog! This is where we update you with what we are up to and what's going on in and around Les Gets.

We are busy with plans and preparations for the coming winter. Our brand new hot tub is on order, looking forward to the delivery of that in the autumn! Mostly though it's behind the scenes preparations at this time of year. We are working to expand the information on our website. If I may get a little phylasofical for a minute, in an ideal world we'd like to have every piece of information possible about Les Gets on our website so you can fully understand what Les Gets has to offer before making your decisions as to whether a Catered Chalet Holiday with us is right for you.

It'll take us a while though! To help acheive this we've a new page on Les Gets Information. Our aim is to add a new article every week or two covering a whole range of topics. So far we've a brief introduction to the village & a guide to times of the year and what to expect. Future articles will cover a guide to the skiing in the portes du soleil, pros & cons of each ski school, to hire skis or to buy skis and much more, so please do check back again.

Take care & happy reading!
