Chalet Les Castors - Self-Catered Chalet in Les Gets

Chalet Les Castors is a self catered chalet for 10 people in Les Gets, with great access to the ski slopes being Ski In / Ski Out. This ski chalet has 5 bedrooms & we take whole chalet bookings only. It's in a great location for access to the slopes, being just 150m from the chairlift, and come equipped with everything you could want for a self catered chalet holiday. Fully built in wood, Chalet Les Castors provides alpine charm with it's open fire & traditional design.

The location of Self catered Chalet Les Castors is very convienient for great access to Les Get's wonderful skiing, being just 150m from from the 6 man perriers express chair lift. The chalet is about 10 mins walk from the centre of Les Gets village, where you'll find the supermarket, plenty of quality local shops including bakeries for morning baguettes & pastries, and lots of wonderful savoyard restaurants (we'd be more than happy to point you in the direction of a few of our favourites.)

This modern chalet is built in all wood, and the focal point of the chalet is the large open plan living area. Logs are included for the log fire, which is surrounded by plenty of soft seating for you to relax and warm the toes after a day on the slopes. The centre area of the living space has the dining table and the other end has the new kitchen. The chalet sleeps 10 people in 5 rooms, two of which are en-suite. Three bedrooms have double beds and the other two have two single beds in each. There's storage for skis & boots in the chalet & parking for 2 cars by the chalet.

Chalet Location - Ski in / Ski out!

You can ski out from the chalet, then ski back to the door at the end of the day. For those having skiied in Les Gets before then you'll know the 6 man perriers express chairlift - Les Gets' Chalet Les Castors is 150m away from that, just towards the village centre from the lift station. This gives you easy & fast access to Les Gets' skiing, with Les Perriers Express being very quiet evening on the busiest of school holiday mornings.

There is one thing to note though - if you are a complete beginner then you'd want to head to meet your instructor before getting on the lift! That's the other direction. Not a problem at all though. The ski school's meet at the bottom of another lift, the Chavannes Express. That's about 10 mins stroll away, and then there are ski hire shops right by the ski school meeting point. With those hire shops you can leave your skis & ski boots there each evening, so there's no carrying skis or walking in ski boots!

The Practicalities of a Self Catered Chalet Holiday

This is a self catered chalet holiday in Les Gets - so the big decision, to eat in or eat out! For eating in there's the fully equipped kitchen. Everything you could want or need is in this kitchen for you. There's all the pots, pans, utensils, crockery & cutlery, a good size fridge freezer, oven, hobs, microwave and of course a dishwasher!

In terms of supplies the village is a pleasant 10 mins stroll away. You'll find the main supermarket (the imaginitively titled "Shopi"), it's smaller rival "Petit Casino", bakeries, butchers and plenty of local artisan food shops should you wish to try the local smoked meats & savoyard cheeses.The bakeries open very early in the morning, and the supermarkets are open in the day times & evenings.

For eating out Les Gets has some great savoyard restaurants. There's a wide selection to choose from & please don't hesitate to ask should you want us to point you towards some of our favourites or make some reservations on your behalf. Whilst we are taking about evenings in Les Gets there are also lots of great bars for you to try.

The nightlife has a warm and friendly atmosphere. If you are after party hard apres ski then maybe Les Gets would not be for you. It is though a great place to relax, have some drinks & enjoy the atmosphere in the many bars & pubs Les Gets has to offer.

Airport or Train Station Transfers

Transfers are not included in the price of your ski holiday. We would be more than happy to arrange these though. We are using a company for the transfers which provide a very good quality service for private and shared transfers. Your maximum waiting time at the airport would be 45 minutes for shared transfers. They provide a door to door service and there would be no charge for amending your booking or cancelling it up to 3 days before. Also, skis and snowboards travel for free!
This is a service we could organise for you, there is no need to pay ahead (you would pay when you get to the resort) and you just need to give us your flight details and we would do the rest.
