Famous as one of the best skiing destinations in the French Alps, this traditional mountain village also offers everything you wish for creating perfect summer holidays as well. All About Summers in Les Gets
Les Gets is a charming and authentic alpine village. The traditional dairy farming village is a community that dates back to the 12th century. It is a mix of old Savoyard chalets and more modern wooden-and-stone buildings constructed in keeping with their beautiful alpine surroundings, with all the facilities you would expect of a firt class summer alpine resort whilst still retaining the charm of an 800 year old mountain community. It has a relaxed atmosphere, warm and friendly, in keeping with it's traditional Alpine roots.
There are over 100 shops, bars and restaurants. The countless artisan shops offer all sorted of local craft and produce, giving a real savoyard feel to the village. There's a cinema (showing films in English every week), a swimming lake, the adventure park, ten pin bowling alley and much more.
Les Gets' entertaining evenings offer a magical way to enjoy the warm alpine summer sunset. There are evening concerts & shows which you can appreciate from a terrace of one of the many bars & restaurants.
Les Gets' nightlife has a warm and friendly atmosphere. There are many good bars worth checking out, hosting live music and all the big sports matches are shown too. Most bars are open until 2am, and for those with energy still to burn there is the Igloo nightclub, which is open until 5am! If though you are looking for a loud party town then Les Gets might not be for you.

Summer Mountain Relaxation....
Les Gets' Summer swimming lake is built in the middle of the nature, just 200m from our the chalets, ideal for those who would like to rest in the sun. You can enjoy scenic views of all the mountains all around with your feet in warm water.
Enjoy amazing mountain walks in the surrounding mountain countryside. What could be more peaceful than leaving for a day in the mountains, joining an old farmer's house to enjoy a lovely barbecue or picnic on top of the mountains. We can advise you of what route to take and meet with you for lunch with food ready for you...
Go for a day's mountain bike and enjoy the lifts open all summer. The lifts carry you and your bike to the top of the mountain ready for you to enjoy the ride back down, making your day's riding a pleasure without all the excursion of having to cycle up in the first place!
Or you could of course explore the mountains on horse back....
Come for one of the most scenic golf course in the Alps, This rather technical course is quite unique thanks to its diversity. You’re sure to fall in love with the variety and quality of this finely landscaped course. Indeed, you’ll be amazed by this mountain course’s greens...

Get the Heart Pumping with Mountain Adventure Sports
The French Alps have plenty of activities to get the blood flowing!
- Go for Mountain bikes downhill on tracks at all levels
- Go for a day out in the adventure park to enjoy life high up in the trees, from monkey ropes, Tarzan jump, double Tyrolian... and for the more adventurous, Avoriaz hosts a breathtaking via ferrata for some amazing climbing.
- Go for mountain rivers water sports. Rafting, canoeing, canyoning, hydrospeed..., exhilarating experiences, accompanied by teams of State qualified professionals.
- Go for Paragliding to see the summit from an other angle!

What's the best time of summer to come in Les Gets?
This is one of those questions that we get a lot, so we thought we'd put together some ideas that might help you plan your holiday. Everyone has their own idea of their perfect alpine holiday, so why not pick the month to match? Please read through the ideas below and if you've any questions about the timing of your chalet holiday please just get in touch.
June:
Very quiet, very cheap, a very good compromise for those who want to enjoy the mountain in peace and with good weather. Month of June is normally when the temperatures rise, the days are the longest and the village not too crowded. Not busy nightlife, but very quiet for some amazing mountain walks, most of the activities already available. Perfect for an amazing relaxing week-end.
Last week end of June:
The must for mountain bike lovers. The Portes du Soleil area hosts the "Pass'portes du Soleil MTB", a mountain trek ranging from 1000 to 2250m. In both France and Switzerland, here you can discover the fabulous Portes du Soleil mountain bike terrain and its grandiose scenery. Come and be part of the 80 km trek around the area. This event also hosts a Mountain Bike Show which will be held in Les Gets for 2011. For more information please click here

July-August:
The main summer time, the resort is very busy from mid July until Mid August. All the activities are open and exciting evening entertainment abounds with concerts held most days. Come and enjoy sunny and warm weather, discover that summer mountain holidays are not only quiet but can also offer you a very busy & entertaining holidays should you so wish. Perfect for families with kids of any age, with lots of activities which are enjoyable for all the family.

September:
September is normally still warm with day getting shorter, the village is quieter and prices cheaper... A perfect time to come for a long week-end away from it all or to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the mountains.
