Welcome to our guided walking holidays in France. We offer inclusive walking holidays for those looking to explore this beautiful region of the French Alps.

Our walking holidays are based in our summer catered chalets in Les Gets. Les Gets makes an ideal base, being just 1 hr from Geneva airport yet in the heart of some of the most stunning hiking the Alps have to offer.

The Specialist Walking Holidays we offer are a great way to meet other like minded hikers, and there's a good balance of organised hikes, and free time for you to explore at your own rate.

Your Guided Walking Holiday in Les Gets

We've included four planned days of guided hiking during your holiday, and two free days for you to explore at your own pace. This allows to to get the most out of the wonderful alpine walking this area has to offer, and also some time to explore the parts that appeal to you most and maybe sample some of the other summer activities in Les Gets

Your week would include guided hikes by Caroline Hale, a very experience mountain guide who will take you to some stunning peaks. Below we've given you an outline of some possible routes, though she plans each hike to match the group & weather conditions to make sure you get the most from you alpine walking holiday.

The routes are taken at the pace of the group, with plenty of stops to admire the surrounding mountain scenery, the flora and fauna, and to take pictures of it all.

Everything Included and Arranged for You

This is a very inclusive package. We include transfers, all meals except 2 on the one staff day off, guided hiking, travel to and from the starting point and much more.

Your transfers are included to and from Geneva airport, and this is planned around whatever times work best for your flights.

A large breakfast is included each morning, that's freshly prepared in the chalet. For 6 days of your week we also provide a packed lunch for you, and your evening meals. The evening meals are prepared in the Chalet by Chef Raphael Cabuis. Les Gets born and bred, Raphael used local produce to it's best over the summer months to fill and delight you after a good day's walking.

The walking guide is included in the price of the holidays. We also include any travel necessary to & from the start points of any hikes further afield.

In short we have everything planned and arrange for you, leaving you to relax and enjoy the alpine mountain surroundings.

Example Itinerary for the Week

Sunday - Arrival Day

Sunday is arrival day. If you like we can alos provide transfers for you (70 Euros per person return), just let us know your flight times and we'd be there at Geneva Airport to meet you. From there it's about a 1 hour drive up to Les Gets. You can arrive any time of day that suits you.

Monday - The First Hike

After breakfast Caroline, your mountain guide, will meet you for the first hike. This is a more gentle day for you to get your feet and enjoy the scenery around Les Gets. The hike would involve about 4 to 5 hours, with some elevation change but no major climbs. As with all hiking days we'll provide you with a packed lunch to take with you.

Tuesday - Guided Walking above Les Gets

This is a longer day, and we'd be looking at some more elavation changes. You are looking at about a 6 hour hike, as always with plenty of breaks to take in the wonderful scenery. A likely candidate is the Pic du Marcelly, a very distinctive mountain above Taninges that's 2000m high. The views from the top over Tananges & Samoens are stunning, you can see over the Grand Massif Ski area as well as back into Les Gets. Packed lunch included.

Wednesday - Free Day

Wednesday is a free day for you to explore at your own pace. We'll provide you with maps of the surrounding area & advice for the best routes depending on the length of walk you would like. The ski lifts run during the summer months, so you can use these to lift you to the top of the mountain to access some great trails.

Thursday - Guided Hike

Again Caroline comes to take over for another guided day's hiking around the Portes Du Soleil (that's the name for the larger area we are in). The likely target may be the Valley de la Manche. This unspoilt wilderness starts on the far side of Morzine. We would drop you there after breakfast, from there you'd wind your way up the valley. It would be a 6 to 7 hour hike, with various options as the end point. We'd be there to meet you afterwards to bring you back to the chalet. Packed lunch included.

Friday - Gentle day in Les Gets

Friday is a relaxing day's gentle walk around the Les Gets area, including a wonderful mountain picnic at an old farm.

After a more leisurely start to the day we would take you for a gentle walk up the mountain side, taking 1.5 to 2 hours to reach an old abondoned farm. There we'd have a large picnic all laid out for you, including local cured meats and cheeses for a relaxing paced lunch. After that if you want you can explore further on your own, or you can come with us continuing our loop for the 1 - 1.5 hours walking back down to the village.

Saturday - Free Day

Sunday - Departure Day

Your last morning with us unfortunately, though we can look after you bags for the day if you fancy one last explore before getting an evening flight home.

Prices & What's Included in our Guided Walking Holidays

As with all our packages this is a bolt on you can add to your chalet booking. The cost would be € 900 for your group (one chalet full).

Having all this included provides great value for your walking holiday in the Alps. Remember though we also provide custom walking holidays tailored exactly to your group should you prefer one of those.
