With local pine cladding and exposed beams, Novelin's open-plan living area celebrates the best traditions of Savoyarde interiors. Space here is extensive, allowing even the largest groups to spread out while still sharing the relaxing focal point of the chalet's roaring log fire. Click to see floor plans...

Property Location

Chalet Novelin is in a great location, 150m from the skiing and an easy 15 minute walk from the resort centre. For beginners and non-skiers, there is a bus stop just metres from the chalet door.

What's Nearby?

This is a quiet area of the village. The nearest bars, restaurants and shops will be found in the village centre.

Leaving each morning

Experienced skiers can be on the slopes straight after breakfast, ski-out is 150m away. For the less experienced, a 5 minute bus ride delivers you to the ski school and the Chavannes cable car. This delivers you straight to the beginner slopes. The bus stop is just 130m from the front door. The outward journey of Ligne B takes around 5 minutes.

Returning each afternoon

If you're confident skiing blue slopes, take the flat but picturesque Bleuet slope all the way down to the car park by the lake and unclip your skis just 150m from the chalet. Alternatively, you can stop at the top of the Gentiane's final steep descent into the village centre and cut across to the top of the Vieux Chene drag lift. Keep going in this direction and unclip just 150m from the chalet door. For the less experienced, or for those who prefer to stop in the village centre for aprés ski, the resort shuttle bus is a handy alternative. The direct Ligne B route home takes about 15 minutes.

People often ask us about...

  • Arrival / Departure Times

On your arrival day, we will aim to have your chalet ready by 4pm and you should feel welcome to arrive at Chalet Novelin from that time onwards. On your departure day, the check-out time is 10am and the chalet must be vacated by that time. If you arrive in Les Gets before 4pm or wish to leave after 10am, we will be happy to provide space to store baggage however there will be no access to the chalet itself.

Optimal time to arrive: Between 4pm and 6pm.

Arriving during these times will ensure that your accommodation is ready and waiting for you as soon as you're in resort — especially handy if you have children to look after. While getting into Les Gets in the morning and hitting the slopes straight away sounds great in theory, in practice the logistics can get a bit overwhelming. While we're happy to store your luggage, we can't always offer you a place to get 'ski-ready'. If your flight times are such that you can't avoid an early arrival, dropping your luggage with us and head out to soak up the atmosphere and get a bite to eat would be the more advisable option.

Please also note that if you arrive after 9pm, you evening meal will be provided (with heating up instructions) - but without the presence of your Chalet Host to serve you.

Optimal time to depart: Between 9am and 10am.

Again, while the thought of getting one last ski session in on your departure day sounds good, it can become a little tricky to pull off. Firstly, if the weather plays up, it will become a challenge to find alternative entertainment — especially with little ones. Secondly, as it's after checkout time, we can't offer anywhere for you to get changed back into your comfy clothes for your flight home.

If you've booked a late flight back, and if the weather isn't nice or you just don't want to ski, we highly recommend spending the day in Geneva. Why not take a stroll along the lakefront, you'll be amazed!

  • Can I book a short break?

Chalet Novelin does not currently offer short break holidays. For information about our ski weekends and which chalets offer them, please visit our short breaks page.

  • Childcare

There are some great childcare options in Les Gets, with all ages catered for. Childcare company policies usually dictate that we can not arrange the booking on your behalf but we are always happy to offer information and advice. You can also find out more by visiting our Les Gets childcare page. The cost of childcare is not included in your holiday package.

  • Ski Lessons

Let us arrange your ski lessons for you. As part of our concierge service, it won't cost a penny more than if you book direct - the only difference is that we do all the legwork for you. To find out more, visit our Les Gets ski and snowboarding lessons page. The cost of ski lessons is not included in your holiday package.

  • Ski Hire

As part of our concierge service, we will be happy to organise your ski hire for you. The cost of ski hire is not included in your holiday package, but hiring your equipment through us won't cost you a penny more than going direct. So put your feet up and let us take care of everything for you.

For guests staying in Chalet Novelin, we usually recommend a local ski hire shop called PUREXPERIENCE. They're a great local company with well-maintained equipment and very knowledgeable staff.

Alternatively, our guests staying in Chalet Novelin can choose to hire from Delavay Sports ski rental shop, and get their equipment delivered directly to the Chalet.

All you need to do is let us know what you need. From there, we will take care of everything and make sure that your equipment is ready for you when you arrive in Les Gets. If this is your first ski trip, just let us know and we can guide you through the whole process. You can also find out more and view prices on our ski hire page.

  • Airport Transfers

Once you have booked your flights, just let us know the details and we can arrange your airport transfers for you. The cost of the transfers is not included in your holiday package, but we will be very happy to make all the arrangements for you as part of our concierge service. You won't pay a penny more than if you go direct, so leave the legwork to us!

While we try to make sure that every dish is sure to impress, please be aware that we do not have the same degree of flexiblity that you might expect in a restaurant. Use this section to get a sense of how we adapt our standard menus to suit the following needs.

    Food intolerances and allergies

Our menus can be adapted to suit those with intolerances and allergies to wheat, gluten, dairy, eggs, nuts, peanuts and sesame. For allergies please be aware there may still be traces in our dishes as we can not remove these food items from our central kitchen. Soya, fish and shellfish are not used in any of our dishes. I'm a vegetarian. What can I expect?

All our meals have vegetarian options available. You can see many of them listed as "alternative options" in our evening meal menus. Our vegetarian dishes present a twist on the French classics, mouth-watering pies and hearty stews. If you're not a vegetarian but just fancy some meat-free nights just let us know, it's not a problem at all.

    I'm a vegan. What can I expect?

Our vegetarian menu can be adapted to suit vegans. Let us know your requirements when you book and we will make sure there are plant-based options at every meal sitting of your stay. However, please be aware that our vegan menu is less flexible and less varied than our other menus. Here are some examples of what that looks like in practice...

At breakfast time, plant-based milk and margarine are available to accompany the freshly-baked bread, jams and fresh fruit we have on offer. A vegan-friendly porridge will fill you up ready for the slopes, too. Some of our daily specials are also suitable for vegans: look out for the fruit smoothies, the pineapple plate and the breakfast bruschetta. To drink, wake up with a freshly brewed proper coffee, or a selection of teas (Earl Grey, green, mint & camomile), plus refreshing apple juice on tap.

For afternoon tea, there is a vegan savoury option daily. But do make sure you're the first one back to the chalet on the day our delicious Vegan Chocolate Cake is served! Each evening, our plant-based dinner service comprises three courses. Our starters include soups, tapenade and samosas. For dessert, a range of sorbets and fresh fruits are available.

Reviews Chalet Novelin

We have just arrived home after a fantastic week in chalet Novelin, it was perfect.. Jana looked after the booking, ski hire, ski passes, transfer from the airport and all the extra questions I had. Nothing was a hassle or problem. The hot tub & sauna were a great treat after a hard day skiing.

Leanne T

This is a wonderful chalet ideal for those wanting to ski in or around Les Gets. With a large hot tub & sauna its the perfect way to relax at the end of the day. A wrap round balcony gives great views across the village and surrounding slopes.

Julia S

Location is good for mountain activities in both summer and winter. Although only four bedrooms the accommodation can cater for up to 12 people and is also child friendly. The hot tub is a great addition for a relaxing evening after mountain biking or skiing

Gareth W

Third time in a chalet from Jana and Raph. We tried a different one this time and again we weren't disappointed. We had the chalet from Sunday-Sunday. Since we live in Switzerland, we wanted to start early in the morning on Sunday (also because of ski classes). We were more then welcome to leave the car at the chalet at 8.30 in the morning. You can really make the most of your holiday using the services and food from Chalet-lesget.com!!!!

Sabine Michiel

This was the first year we took our 4 & 5 year olds skiing so we were really conscious to make sure the trip was a positive experience for them. 11 of us hired Chalet Novelin and from the minute we arrived we had a fantastic time. We had flexi catering which suited us perfectly, the cupboards and fridges were fully stocked and each morning the amazing food boxes were delivered.

Anon. on TripAdvisor

As always, an amazing stay. A hot tub and stream room after a long day on the slopes and then to finish that off, amazing food. I would return just for the food. Everything is organised so you can hit the slopes and nothing is to much trouble. I will be returning next year for sure.

Just returned from two weeks stay at Chalet Novelin. Great action family holiday with teenagers and friends. Raphs food was to a very high standard, Chalet within walking distance of Lake, Les Gets and all its amenities.

David S

The rooms were spacious and homely and en-suites to all of the rooms. The balcony gave us sunshine most of the day into the evening. A 10 minute walk into the village of Les Gets includes using a short gravel path.

Had a fabulous 5 days in the Chalet Novelin in March . Weather was amazing and being a novice even got the hang of skiing ! Chalet lovely and a short walk to the slopes. Will be back next year!

Bev & Rod

Had a fantastic experience staying here, everything was sorted out for us, with lift passes given to us in the chalet, and hired equipment delivered and fitted shortly after we arrived.

John G

The chalet is lovely - well presented and clean with all you need, including comfy bathrobes. Ski passes brought to the chalet is brilliant allowing as much skiing time as possible.

Fiona B

The boot and ski fitting service supplied in the chalet was brilliant, we were supplied with new boots and skis, and our lift passes were waiting for us. This was my second visit and will certainly be returning again.
