Moving around Les Gets is quite easy due to its excellent public buses and free shuttle services. There is also a well serviced taxi industry for those in the more out of the way chalets. Add to this the useful night-shuttle and Les gets suddenly becomes quite a convenient place to get around.
Les Gets village is approximately 2km long along the valley floor. It takes about 30 minutes to walk from one end to the other. The valley floor is where most of the village is concentrated. It is generally quite flat making it ideal for walking.

There is an excellent free public bus service in Les Gets village. This service which has five routes and covers the whole of the Les Gets area. Each route has a bus every 15-30 mins depending on the time of day. They are all free to jump on and off any time.
They run from Saturday 18th December 2024 to Monday 14th April 2025.

There are three main lift points serviced by the free buses in Les Gets: Chavannes Express (gondola), Mont Chery (gondola) and Les Perriers (chairlift). Most of the free buses run between these three points and other locations in the village. There are two other important lift points in the village: La Turche (button lift) and Les Folliets (chairlift). Each of these is covered by its own bus route.

There is a very convenient night shuttle bus called the "Navette Nocturne" which runs around Les Gets dropping people off after a night in town. It is €3 per person (€1 for children under 12, must be accompanied by an adult). You can buy a ticket directly from the driver. This shuttle can be booked by calling the number below any time after 17:30 in the evening. It only operates during the winter season.
It runs from 19:30 to 23:30 each evening from mid December to mid April.

There is a company (Balad'Aulps Bus) which provide buses along the Vallee d'Aulps between the different resorts (including Les Gets Morzine, Montriond, Essert Romand, St Jean d'Aulps, Le Biot, Le Jotty and Bioge) in the Portes Du Soleil. There is usually a bus every 45 minutes. Their bus stop signs are red and white and usually have an electronic sign telling you when the next bus is.

For 2018/2019 the buses run everyday between 07:00 and 19:00 from 22nd December to the 28th April. A one way ticket was €1.50 for anyone over 10 years old For children aged between 10 to 6 years old it is €0.75 and children aged 5 years and under are free.
You take a Balad'Aulps bus to get to Morzine. There are 2 different lines you can use to get to Morzine and further along the valley from Les Gets.
Line 1 goes from Les Gets to Bioge via Morzine, Essert-Romand and St. Jean d'Aulps.
Line 2 goes from Les Gets to Le Biot via Morzine, Montriond and St. Jean d'Aulps.
The main difference between the lines is the destination/stops and the timing. The timing of the two lines works out well for going to or from Les Gets and Morzine. It works out so there is a bus approximately every 45 minutes. You pay on board and the prices are above.
There are 3 Balad'Aulps bus stops in Les Gets, both lines use these three stops. There is one near Les Perrières car park, the second is opposite the medical centre close to the centre of the village and the last bus stop is opposite the Mont Chery ticket office/gondola station.
Both lines stop in Morzine at the round-a-bout which intersects the following streets: Taille de Mas du Grand Hôtel, Route de la Plagne and Taille Mas de la Passerelle. This is very close to the Super Morzine Gondola. There are other stops in Morzine but this is the one most people go for as it is quite central. To see the other stops please click the PDF below.

To get from Les Gets to Avoriaz on public transport you need to take 2 buses and a gondola. This cannot be avoided. It may sound like a lot but its actually pretty simple and quick. Alternatively you can ski between the two locations.
First you need to take a bus from Les Gets to Morzine. This is described above in detail but basically you need to take either Line 1 or Line 2 from Les Gets to the Super Morzine stop in Morzine town.
Once in Morzine you need to walk about 200m down Route de la Plagne (in the direction of the petrol station) to the tourist office. The bus stop for the Prodains Express bus is in front of the tourist office by the blue skier sculpture. Take "Line A" to the bottom station of the Prodains Express gondola. There is usually a bus every 10-15 minutes. It is free to get on.
The Prodains Express Gondola will then take you from the bottom of the valley up to Avoriaz Village. If you have a "Full Area" ski pass you can board this for free. If you just have a "Local Area" pass you will need to buy a pass to board the gondola.
To get from Les Gets to St Jean d'Aulps is the same as going from Les Gets to Morzine except you stay on the bus a little longer. You take the same buses and it is the same price. You can see more about this in the section above.
Both lines stop in St Jean d'Aulps at the tourist office. From there a free shuttle bus can take you to St Jean d'Aulps main lift station. This leaves once every hour.
