This is the dream job for anyone whose passion for cooking is matched by their enthusiasm for the smooth running of a guest's ski holiday. Alongside a small and close-knit team, you will receive training and support from our head chef, Raphael. We will provide you with a full week of training, after which you will be responsible of looking after the guests in the chalets and assisting in our central kitchen. In the main kitchen you will be doing preparation for the chef which as per list provided.
You will not be assigned to kitchen or a chalet in particular for the whole season, your work rota will be provided at the weekly team meeting at the beginning of each holiday week to organise when and in which chalet you will be working.
You will also be responsible for the maintenance and general cleanliness of the chalet. Please note, a lot of cleaning will be required either in the kitchen or chalet.
There will be one or two busy days, per week, during guest change over days. Your working week, throughout the ski season, will vary but on average it will work out at 40 hours.
Certain weeks, during the ski season, will be busier than others:
You will be working with the chef and independently in the kitchen
You will be responsible for the tasks you will be dedicated
You will ensure food hygiene and health and safety standards are met (after hygiene training)
You will provide an excellent level of customer service, in line with our standards
You will host in different chalets during the season in the same resort
You will co-ordinate with our manager, who will oversee your duties and responsibilities
You will need to be flexible
You will cover the days-off of other team members, in different properties or departments, during the season
Over the course of the ski season you may undertake different tasks, within different departments
